Picture yourself one year from now.

Now think about writing a letter to the future you — are you doing what you love? Or are you still feeling stuck, fearing you’ll never get there?

If you’re like us when we were in career transition, you may be listening to voices in your head blocking your courage (which — get this — comes from the French word for “heart”=coeur).

The voices may sound like:

  • I’m not qualified to do anything else.
  • It’s too late.
  • I’m not smart enough to make a change to____.
  • What will _____think?
  • I’ve been out of the paid workforce too long.

That’s your inner critic speaking. When you quiet those voices, it becomes easier to lead with your heart.

A colleague recently shared with us how she left her corporate role during the pandemic without a plan. Why? Because she chose to listen to her heart — and honor what she loves to do — support others.

When you listen to your heart it sounds like this:

  • You’re just where you need to be.
  • You CAN take that next step.
  • You’ve had success before in your career, you can do it again.
  • You need to share your gifts with the world.
  • You’re living according to your expectations now!

For some, it’s following your heart. For others, it’s going with your gut. Or your instinct. That’s how we founded EvolveMe. Our gut told us that women in midlife needed a supportive community to make a change.

“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love….pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” -Maya Angelou

We’re honored to work with women like you in midlife career transition. It’s a time of great need when so many women are exploring a return to the workforce or a career pivot. We feel lucky to love what we do. We’ve lifted each other up to get this point. And we no one gets here alone.

You deserve to be supported at every age and stage of your career. We founded EvolveMe because we know the power of women coming together.

Ready to take the first step? Try this exercise.
Reflecting on your relationships helps you access your heart — and seeing what you admire in others may bring you closer to what you really want to do.

Now your turn to spread the love!
Who can you write a love letter to? Who’s a friend, mentor or colleague you admire? Take time to move beyond the voices in your head and have the courage to pay it forward! It will make you feel good — and them too!

For example:
Name, I’m so inspired by your_________. I love how you________. Thank you for being a part of my career journey. I hope we can connect soon and learn more about each other’s work.

P.S. It’s not too late! How do you know if you’re ready to reinvent your career? We’ve got you covered. Download our Reinvention Readiness QUIZ here: Reinvention Ready QUIZ. We want more for you!
